Not long ago, Acme Express Inc. of Cleveland was looking to expand its overseas markets for a logistical software product it distributes. "The product is used by the automotive industry to move manufactured cars throughout the world," explains Don Scipione, president of the 15-employee
company. He sought advice from the World Trade Center Cleveland.
Through research, the trade center's staff determined which overseas markets would be most receptive to the 20-year-old company's software. "The United Kingdom topped the list, and we quickly joined a UK trade mission sponsored by the World Trade Center Cleveland," says Scipione. "Then we demonstrated the software to UK companies at meetings coordinated by the UK World Trade Center."
The results speak for themselves. Scipione now has several UK companies as clients and is building similar relationships in Mexico with the help of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and the World Trade Center Cleveland.
"The World Trade Center Cleveland's trade missions are a cost-effective way to gain potential clients," says Scipione. "You can utilize the week of intense marketing sessions made possible by the people who know the right prospects and contacts, saving you time and effort. This is one of the best marketing investments I have ever made." |
